Current Outdoor Water Use Schedule

Effective June 1, 2010 

The Governor recently signed a new state water stewardship law that reduces landscape watering restrictions.

Landscape Watering:  You may hand water with a shut off nozzle ANY time of ANY day.  For sprinkler systems, you may now water ANY day of the week, but only from 4:00 p.m. until 10:00 a.m.   Drip irrigation is completely exempt from the outdoor rules.  It may be used any day or time.

Other Outdoor Uses: For other outdoor uses like car washing, the entire State of Georgia will continue on an odd-even schedule.  Water use is allowed three days a week on assigned days using odd and even-numbered addresses. 

Odd-numbered addresses can water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
 
Even-numbered and unnumbered addresses are allowed to water on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The Following Uses Are Exempt from Restrictions:

Commercial agriculture
Irrigation of food gardens
Irrigation of newly installed or reseed turf for the first 30 days
Drip irrigationor soaker hoses
Hand watering with a shut off nozzle
Water from a private well
Irrigation of plants for sale
Irrigation of athletic fields,golf courses or public recreational turf
Installaion and maintenance of irrigation systems
Hydroseeding
