November 11, 2014 – The Authority has been given the go-ahead by the Georgia Emergency Management Agency to make a final application for $1.1 million in Hazard Mitigation Grant funding for emergency generators for the Burford water treatment plant and Highway 36 booster pumping station. This would allow the system to continue to treat and deliver water throughout Butts County in periods of extended power outages.
