September 8, 2015 – In August, the Authority carried out pilot testing of a new chemical feed process that uses a lime slurry and carbon dioxide to adjust pH and boost alkalinity in drinking water. The finished product is more stable and less likely to corrode piping. A side benefit may be a reduction in disinfection by-products.
