Butts County Now in Non-Drought Status

Posted on: September 17th, 2017

September 7, 2017 – Richard E. Dunn, Director of the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD), has changed Butts County’s Drought Response Level from “Level 1” to “Non-Drought”.  Although EPD is easing the outdoor water use restrictions that were implemented during the most recent drought response declaration, Georgians must continue to follow the year-round non-drought outdoor water use schedule required by the Water Stewardship Act.  This law allows all types of outdoor water use, but landscape watering only before 10 a.m. and after 4 p.m. daily.  This is done to limit evaporation during the warmest part of the day.   More information on water conservation can be found at http://epd.georgia.gov/water-conservation.
