Posted on: November 11th, 2015

November 11, 2015 –  Karsten Gotel, the Authority’s data collection technician, is moving throughout Butts County to collect geographic points for hydrants, valves, and manholes.   With the GPS unit, he’s able to link up with a series of satellites and a fixed base station to pinpoint these features with an accuracy of less than a foot.  This data will be entered into the Authority’s geographic information system being completed with the assistance of the Carl Vinson Institute of Government at the University of Georgia.
