March 2, 2018 – The Authority learned today that our application for a $75,000 Seed Grant from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division has been approved. As a member of the Middle Ocmulgee Water Council the Authority is eligible to apply for projects that will benefit our local watershed. In this collaborative project, the Authority is working with the South River Watershed Alliance, the Jackson Lake Association, Georgia Power, DeKalb County and several other local governments to install a Bandalong Litter Trap on the South River that will capture stormwater trash before it arrives downstream at Jackson Lake. The total project is expected to cost $324,000. For more information on the project, check this press release from the South River Watershed Alliance.
